The University of the South Pacific Pacific TAFE and Leadership Fiji recently welcomed the Vanuatu Institute of Public Administration and Management (VIPAM) and Ministry of Justice and Community Services (MJCS) delegation to Suva, Fiji.

The mandate for Vanuatu Institute of Public Administration and Management (VIPAM) is responsible for professional development and education in the Public Service Commission in Vanuatu.

The purpose of the first day’s visit was for VIPAM and MJCS to discuss the USP TAFE Certificate of Professional Development to strengthen the leadership programs for the public service sector in Vanuatu.

The Manager of VIPAM, Mrs. Pala Luen, recognized the significance of using the customised USP Certificate of Professional Development for the Public Service Leadership Program Cohort.

On the second day at the Leadership Fiji, discussions focused on the potential design and development of the Public Service Leadership Program in Vanuatu.

The team learned from the program initiatives and insights and the successful frameworks of Leadership Fiji.

VIPAM aims to leverage the experiences and initiatives of Leadership Fiji to groom a cohort of emerging leaders poised to steer Vanuatu towards a future of sustained progress and prosperity.

Mrs. Luen emphasized the importance of investing in the Public Service Leadership Programs and pledged to cultivate a more inclusive and dynamic leadership landscape in Vanuatu.

She assured equitable participation of both men and women in shaping the nation's path towards excellence by empowerment of emerging leaders to promote gender equality and socio-economic development.

We acknowledge the support of DFAT through partnership with Balance of Power as we prepare the design and development of the first cohort of the Public Service Leadership Program for the Ministry of Justice and Community Services.
