
Colored with blue, more than 500 children from around the areas of Fresh Water 1- 6 and surrounding areas in Port Vila attended the commemoration of the day event.
This year's theme is "developing Children's Knowledge and Character from early Childhood age".
In his remarks, the Prime Minister Joe Natuman strongly urged parents to allocate more time spend with their children at home as they are not only precious jewels to them, but for the community and country as a whole.
He says it is essential for parents to develop children's knowledge and character from early childhood age because they are the future of the country.
PM Natuman also addressed that it is the Government's obligation to ensure that children's Rights are met in the areas of health, education and justice.
Present at that time was Opposition Leader, Moana Carcasses Kalosil and Director General of the Ministry of justice, Mark Bebe who do gave their Children's Day remarks.
After the speeches, an official tent visit was lead by Prime Minister Natuman and attended Government representatives who visited each tent displayed by relevant stakeholders during the day of the event.
Relevant stakeholders are; ENT & Eye Clinic, Shefa Health Development, Correctional Services, Ministry of Education, Save the Children, Vanuatu Children's Network, Wan Smol Bag, Climate Change, World Vision and Child Desk Office- Ministry of Justice.
The day was enjoyed with Tooth brushing Demonstration and distribution of Colgate & tooth brush, lollie drop off by helicopter, drama, face painting, colorings, story telling, important free Eye, Nose, Ear and Trout check ups, distributions of brochures & pamphlets and much more.
Meanwhile, the program commenced with a parade, lead by the VMF Band and concludes with Children's Fashion show and Prizes giving in the evening.
