    Commission of Inquiry Appointed to Investigate Jack Mackerel Fishing Agreement

    In response to mounting concerns over the legality and validity of the agreement signed between Tuna Fishing Vanuatu Limited and UNIMED Glory SA regarding fishing rights in the South Pacific, a Commission of Inquiry has been established.

    THE COMMISSION OF INQUIRY INTO VANUATU SHIPPING REGISTRY

    The Minister of Justice and Community Services, John Amos Nalau Masilaewia, has announced the appointment of a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the operations of the Vanuatu Shipping Registry.

    This Commission of Inquiry is established followed the decision 158 of 2023 of the Council of Ministers.

    UNITING TO PROTECT AND PROMOTE VANUATU’S CUSTOM RESILIENT SPIRIT

    Vanuatu will celebrate Chiefs Day in 2024 with the theme "Let's unite to protect and promote the custom resilient spirit of Vanuatu".

    Chiefs Day in Vanuatu is a time-honoured tradition that celebrates the esteemed chiefs who have played a central role in preserving the customs and values that define Vanuatu's identity and reaffirming the collective commitment to resilience and unity in the face of challenges.
